Free-Range Social Media

We've now joined the Free-Range Social Media Movement, started by Brené Brown at ordinarycourage.com.

Behind it all is a foundation of thoughts on how to live, love and work wholeheartedly conncted to ourselves. And Brown emphasizes that above all other ingredients
of living an emotionally healthy life is the importance of loving ourselves.

Wholehearted living is about engaging in our lives from a place of worthiness.
It means cultivating the courage, compassion, and connection to wake up in
the morning and think, No matter what gets done and how much is left undone;
I am enough.

Our fundamental need to live authentically is unfolded in The Gifts of Imperfection:
Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are.

Creativity, innovation, and truth-telling can feel very vulnerable in our culture which
is why we often feel deeply inspired when we see it . We’d love to know more about
how you find the courage to share your authentic self and your work with the world.

Or as Keith says: When it's time to go on, it's time to go on, and when you get up
there you either croak, puke, fall over, or not.

Reality Is Stranger Than Fiction

It's been a while since hotness was the Anita Pallenberg's of this world.

Anita came out of an artistic world, and she had quite a bit of talent herself - she was certainly a lover of art and pally with its contemporary practioners and wrapped up in the pop art world.

So Keith describes her in "Life", generally in the sweetest, gentlest way, though he makes no secret of her being a wild woman, passionate to the core and when drugged-up even being a complete asshole, "Hitler".

Anita had rage whether there was dope or not, but if there was no dope she'd go crazy.

As far as I know, the Jersey Shore chicks pictured above are usually drunk.
And we're not talking "elegantly wasted", but hammered, loud & vulgar kind of drunk.
I fail to see the value of their tv-existence, and to me the whole concept is one big
waste of time.

You can't turn tv into "a reality", and if you try, you'll end up watching posers,
out to pretend the filter is gone, and this is who they are. It's not only less interesting
than real life to me, it's a perverted version of being present and "real" as a person.

You're So Vain

So not only a diabolic and despotic egomaniac, Muammar Gaddafi is said to have a disgustingly vain personality as well.

For years a private Ukrainian nurse used to travel with him everywhere. Packing daily shots of Botox
for the dictator, who apparently thought he'd look younger, fresher and more in vigor from injecting the poison.

Seen it all before
Sadly Gaddafi is not alone in this quest to look like something he's not.

The art of pretending, taking on a look, persona or image is quite common among
political and corporate leaders too. As if they're uncomfortable being themselves.
And more importantly as if they've never taken the time or had the courage to get
to know themselves.

Quite unlike Keith's defining charm of looking at things directly and to answer everyone honestly:The only thing I can say is, you gotta know yourself.

Keith is certainly not hiding his past, what he's done, who he is behind plastic & Botox.
It's all there, baby.

KeithRichards Store

Vintage Vinos is the first collection of material from the solo recordings of Keith Richards. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl, the fourth side of this double LP set features an etching of the iconic image used on the album's cover.

Personaly I'm real fond of the label: Mindless Records

Practise Sharing

Experimenting with the share button for practise via addtoany.com.
First thing I notice is the missing Google+ button to add though, now come on!

I clearly prefer the AddThis functionality in Chrome
for regular sites though.

It works like a charm with real easy customization.

Flawless Is Fake

I get intimidated by the business women who appear as though they went to great lengths to look flawless.

The ones with tightly coiffed hairstyle, wrinkle free make-up, perfectly manicured nails, designer acsessories and
an oh so expensive wardrobe, along with 3 spotless kids under five, a well fitting career husband and a planned out future.

They come across as overwhelming to me, unatural, tense and worst of all, it's like they scream “Do Not Disturb”.

The opposite is portrayed
Even so, most companies go for this flawless image in a pursuit of "professionalism", as if to say "We don't make mistakes. Ergo you can count on us".

But in truth the opposite is portrayed. The corporate signals seem to be stripped of humour & humanity, tolerance, openness & true presence - i.e. the ethics that tie a modern organization in with its communities and customers.

Or as Keith says of image:
If they wrote about me as the sweet, gentle, loving family man, it would probably do me more damage. And be equally untrue.

In short: Hey, you can screw up. I have.

Under The Flesh, Brother

The skull...it has nothing to do with bravado and surface bullshit. Beauty is skin-deep. This is what we are all like under the flesh, brother. Take off the hair, pull off the skin, you're looking at the I and I.

The iconic skull ring is there. Always. I can't remember a photo of Keith without it. Or without the handcuff bracelet for that matter. Both are always there. As reminders.

The skull ring telling its tale of all us being the same underneath the skin. No bullshit needed.
We're all the same!

Or as they said in the old days: Humana non sunt turpia [the human is no shame].

To me, it's best done in ink. As permanent and beautiful reminders of being "the human". And of keeping in mind that mistakes are welcomed and that sometimes they turn into second chances of doing it better, bolder & braver.

And sometimes they don't. But they're still second chances in life, love & work. We keep growing as we live. And then at one point we stop. The end.

But the message, at bottom, isn't to say 'Screw you'. It's to inspire compassion.
as Jessica Pallington West says of the skull ring in What Would Keith Richards Do?

This To-ing And Fro-ing

Don't go down the LG phone road unless you're a real patient person.

Preferably a Buddhist monk with total body and mind control, forever unshaken by the physical world's waiting game. Then and only then, the LG might work for you.

If on the other hand you've got zero tolerance for network snail speed.

Or if you're inclined to feel interrupted and annoyed by not getting even a day of Android battery life to work with.

Or if you possibly could give in to frustrations now & then and accidentally throw the phone at the wall.

Then you most certainly will have a lot of mixed emotions, and will end up embracing the ol' iPhone again, 'cos the LG ain't gonna cut it!

This coming and going
Is driving me nuts
This to-ing and fro-ing
Is hurting my guts
So get off the fence
Its creasing your butt
Life is a party
Lets get out and strut

Patience Now!

Patience isn’t so much a virtue, as an opportunity to look closer and appreciate the details of a situation. It’s actually a way to befriend yourself and others. With patience, we see the good intention beneath the twisted route we often take in seeking to fulfill our dreams.

So writes Lori Deschene, editor at the blog
Tiny Buddha.

As I've stated before I've got no religious views or preferences. To me, religion is between you and your God. If you have one. Or as Keith puts it:

If you're looking for a guru, forget it - they find you, you don't find them.

But my "unholy" impatience could use an invitation to: "Befriend the crooked path.
Wait with curiosity. See frustration as an opportunity to find alternative solutions.
See the good intention behind most failures. Be kind."

For now I try to be conscious of the mood before my head starts to wind up with
impatient worries. And then to sidestep the self-criticism without taking it out on
anybody else - most of the time!

Passion & Consistency

Not one to curse myself all that much, but come on! I know this.
1. rule of blogging: Be consistent. Blog just-about every day.
At just-about the same time.

And that's what blogging for business is all about - it's a habit.
As they put it in The 'No Bullshit' Guide to Blogging for Business.

2. rule in business blogging is write about stuff you're passionate about.
This is surely what motivates me to blog in Kadence's name. It's an urge to
talk about the drive & the difficulties behind wanting to do business the
passionate Keith kind of way; and my kind of way.

We certainly didn't want to be rock 'n roll stars. That would be too tacky!

Dealing With A Brenda II

Being burnt by JM Kommunikation, Kadence is one of the violated creditors in the bankruptcy process, and as such got an update from the appointed solicitor by the
Danish Commercial Court.

Apparently the owner, Johan Håkansson, has refused to be of any assistance to the Court or hand over needed documents.

Imagine the amount of public resources used in order to force this unethical man to just follow the laws.

The lawyers can't find any of the company's statutory accounting, can't locate the money trail, and haven't found one ad contract for the inserts, Kadence was hired to write the content for.

Håkansson is a fraud to the bone alright!

On top of it, my intuition told me from the first second of meeting him that something was "off".

I didn't listen well enough and tried to rationalize my uneasiness by insisting I couldn't just walk away from a - potentially big - job "cos it didn't feel right". I was wrong, and I'm angry that he made me question my judgement, made me doubt me. That's real bad karma for ya!

Keith, as mentioned, most certainly would've dealt with the man in a much more direct & action packed manner. I don't do violence though, and I try to be zen about losing money, not ethics or friendships or self-respect.

But I do struggle with it!

Lead Vocalist Syndrome

As many of my generation I've done a complete
180 on U2.

I used to love those Irish boys with the white flag, singing out loud of inner and outer conflicts, of growing pains, of doing yours to save your soul.

But that was before they turned into showbiz, fronted by an egomaniac, out to copy a Mick sized thunder - whitout even trying to play the maracas!

As Keith has explained it:
Well, Mick got very big ideas. All lead singers do. It's a known affliction called LVS:
lead vocalist syndrome. [...] If you combine congential LVS with a nonstop
bombardement of flattery every waking moment over years and years, you can start
to believe the incoming.

And as Keith points out; even if you're not flattered by flattery, it will go to your head!

Staging of own importance
With the current U2 Tour grossing in way over $700 million, it's real hard to match the
band with any anti-poverty credibility - since they don't even pay income tax in Ireland,
i.e. don't contribute to the common good of the society they used to be part of.

And this is no "Exile" situation.

U2 hasn't been ripped off by management nor been arrested, once. Besides Mick
has never even hinted at believing The Stones could or would save the world,
as well as he still seem to have a good ol' dry humour. At times.

Bono on the other hand come across as pretentious to me. Taking on a rock God
image and never stop preaching about how he ("we") can save us from the world's
worst wankers.

This staging of own importance has eaten up his personal integrity. His voice doesn't
hold any promise or longing or fear no more. It no longer challenges you.

And if U2 was anything way back, they were challenging.
